Belgium The history of the colonial return to Rwanda !
Belgium will return its archives from the colonial period to Rwanda. An envelope of € 400,000 has been provided for this purpose. The project, which will last for more than two years, aims to digitize all archives owned by the Central African Museum in Trevor and the Royal Archives, according to the Office of the Minister for Development Cooperation, Alexander de Delacroix, on Friday.
The project will begin next year with a visit by a delegation of Rwandan archivists who will set priorities.
The controversy over the return of property to the former colonies is not new in Belgium. In this context, Minister de Delacroix took part last week in a conference devoted to strengthening ties between Africa and Europe,
